Norman Connors is an influential American music producer, drummer, and composer whose groundbreaking career spans jazz, R&B, soul, and smooth jazz. Inspired by legends such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis, Connors honed his craft at Juilliard School and Temple University before gaining early recognition as a drummer for jazz greats Pharoah Sanders and Archie Shepp. He rose to prominence in the 1970s with his signature fusion of jazz and soul, producing timeless hits like “You Are My Starship” featuring Michael Henderson and introducing iconic vocalists including Phyllis Hyman and Jean Carn. Renowned for his romantic ballads and lush, orchestrated soundscapes, Norman became a defining force in the quiet storm genre and modern R&B. As a Featured Co-Host on Celebrity Spotlight on The Brown Note Experience Radio Show, he brings a legacy of innovation, artistry, and storytelling to the mic. Norman is also celebrating the release of his new CD project, "Royalty", continuing his tradition of excellence and musical influence.
